Tengra stays small. So should the pellet.
Most feed ranges are built around carp, which means they start at a particle a Tengra cannot take and step up quickly to sizes it will never need. The useful part of a range for this fish is the small end — and that is the end most ranges treat as an afterthought.
The small grades are not an afterthought
Tengra is a small-bodied catfish. It is harvested at a size where a carp is still growing, so a crop can spend most of its life on the grades a carp farmer passes through in weeks. A range that only takes the small sizes seriously at the hatchery stage is the wrong range for this fish.
Ours starts at a fine hatchery mash, then a 0.5–0.6 mm floating micro-pellet, then 1 mm, then 2 mm for the last stretch. Four grades, and then it stops: the 3 mm grade is sized for fish of 100–250 g and above, and a Tengra never gets there.

These are the grades a Tengra crop uses, start to finish. The same progression covers Pabda and Singhi, which harvest in the same weight band.

What Tengra farmers ask us.
Do I need the 2 mm and 3 mm grades for Tengra?
The 2 mm yes, towards the end of the crop. The 3 mm no — it is sized for fish of 100–250 g and above, and Tengra reach about 18 cm, well short of that. One of our six grades is simply not for this pond, and we would rather say so.
Which grade do I start on?
Aqua Mash in the hatchery and earliest nursery days, then Aqua Plus at 0.5–0.6 mm once the fry can take a formed particle, then Aqua Shakti at 1 mm. Both early grades hold the same 42% protein specification.
Can I feed this alongside carp in the same pond?
Send us the details of what you are stocking and at what ratio. A mixed pond is a real question about particle size and feeding behaviour, and it deserves a specific answer rather than a general one.
Do you guarantee a growth rate?
No, and we would not trust anyone who did. Pond conditions, stocking density, water quality and management all move the result. What we hold to is the specification: every batch is checked against it before release.
